We arrived on Deltaville, Va on the 9th. Other than a casual seafood restaurant on site, there was nothing within miles. We know because we walked at least 3 miles round trip and all we found was a hardware store. Even the pool they advertised was closed because "the pool guy just doesn't show up".

On Saturday, May 11th we headed to Solomon's Island. Now this is a place I would go back to. On Sunday we visited their Calvert Marine Museum and climbed the historic lighthouse to the top. The museum focused on the oyster and crab industry and the boats that were used over the century. We then walked to the town. Solomon's Island has been inhabited since colonial times, In the19th century is was developed to support the island's fishing fleet and built schooners and sloops. Today it is an upscale destination spot for the Baltimore-Washington area. We found a nice restaurant right on the water and had a great seafood dinner. And since it was Mother's Day, I had a martini to toast all the mothers  out there! 

Monday, May 12th we headed to St Michael's on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake. It is another sweet town of historic homes and lots of shops and restaurants . We spent the afternoon walking around town with plans to go back today. However, after Jack checked the weather forecast for the next couple of days, we decided to head to Annapolis today to avoid high winds and rain that is forecasted for the next few days. St Michaels would have been a great place to hang out in for a couple of days but since I have an appointment with a hand specialist on Friday morning in Annapolis we decided not to risk it. Neither of us have been to Annapolis so we are excited about spending time there

March 4th, 2024 Well our planning, packing and provisioning are complete, We moved onto the boat last night and cruise to Sarasota this morning for our first stop on our 10 month cruise of the Great Loop.   March 5, 2024 We had another beautiful day on the water.   November 23, 2024 We left The Wharf in Orange Beach, Al on Thursday 11/7. It was hard to leave Evan and Michael (Strummin’ Along) behind as well as Donna and Gary   (L’Attitude Adjustment) who live in Orange Beach. Evan and Michael were staying to have routine   maintenance   done on the boat and then go home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. They will continue their Loop in early January. We cruised 69 miles to Destin, Fl on Thursday. Stayed at the Two Georges Marina and then another 61 miles the next day to the Sun Harbor Marina in Panama City. It is a totally rebuilt marina.   The restaurant is not open yet so we ate on the boat and got ready for our trip the next day to Apalachicola.   After 67 miles we stayed at the Water Street Dock and had dinner at Scipio’s Seafood restaurant.   October, 23, 2024 Well, yesterday was a big day!   We went through our last lock of our journey. Our total count of locks from the beginning of our Loop is 109. This last lock, called the Coffeeville Lock, separates the fresh water of the river system from the salt water that runs up from Mobile Bay. The sites along the water also changed. First, we were spotting alligators on the banks of the river, then palm trees and then, when we entered Mobile Bay we were welcomed by swarms of dolphin. We knew we were getting close to Florida. When we left Kingfisher Marina on October 17 th we entered the Tombigbee River. That night we anchored in Bashi Creek. It was very narrow with overhanging trees so our 3 boats had barely enough room to anchor. In fact, we all had to use our stern anchors as well as the bow anchors to keep us straight in the narrow creek. It was a beautiful, quiet setting and we had it all to ourselves.
