May 31 On May 25th our plan was to leave Cape May around 7 AM and cruise to Atlantic City. We awoke to a dense fog that had encapsulated the whole marina. We decided to wait until the fog lifted before heading out into the Atlantic Ocean. By 8:15 the fog had thinned in the marina so we figured it was going to continue to lift. As we got out into the Atlantic we realized it was not going anywhere fast. Thank goodness for radar! We could barely see beyond the bow of the boat, fortunately radar shows us where any boats are around us to include their wakes and ours After about 2 hours the fog lifted enough to reduce my anxiety level and by the time we were nearing Atlantic City we could see the outlines of the casinos and hotels along the beach. We arrived safely at the Farley State Marina which is also the site of the Golden Nugget casino. The marina was not near the Board Walk or the big casinos and hotels so the next day we walked 2,5 miles to the Board Walk and then another ...

May 23rd We are in our 8th state, New Jersey!!! I love hearing the Jersey accent!! I left off with our departure from Annapolis on Monday, May 20th for Chesapeake City. In order to transition from the Chesapeake Bay to the Delaware River and Bay you have to go through the C & D canal (Chesapeake & Delaware). It is the 3rd busiest canal in the world, probably because Baltimore is one of the busiest ports in the country and cargo ships have to come across the canal to get to and from the Atlantic So we spent one night at the Chesapeake Inn & Marina. It was a remote marina with a great restaurant and Tiki Bar, Jack cannot pass up a Tiki Bar. The next morning we headed out on the C&D canal and soon hit some heavy fog. We passed only one cargo ship on the C&D and we wondering why. When we arrived at the Delaware City Marina at the end of the canal we found out why. The marina staff wondered how we got through the canal since it had been closed to traffic due t...

May 20th Well this morning at 7 AM we, reluctantly, left Annapolis after being there for 5 days. I cannot believe I am 75 years old and have never been to this wonderful city. It reminded us so much of Boston from the history, winding, weirdly laid out streets to historic architecture And then there is the Annapolis Naval Academy We were in awe of, not only the history but the architecture and traditions. This is where the cadets live during their 4 years at the Academy A little more history on the campus We ended our last day with, what has become a great way to meet new people and hear their stories, a Docktail Party ! All these people are on their own journey around the Loop and we are all eager to tell our success stories as well as our "oops"! This afternoon we will arrive in Chesapeake City which is on the northeastern end of the Chesapeake Bay. Tomorrow we will cross the C&D canal to Delaware City which will be the starting point to head down Delaware Bay to Cape...
