March 24th
The last time I posted we were in Palm Coast after a cold windy trip. Jack had developed a cold but the trooper he is pushed ahead. Our second day there was warmer so we engaged in the mundane activities of laundry and boat maintenance. Also gave Jack a day to cater to his cold.
On the 21st we headed up the ICW to River's Edge Marina in St Augustine. The scenery along this northern portion of Florida is beautiful, A lot of rural, undeveloped areas to enjoy as we cruised along. The marina had a great little restaurant called Hurricane Patty's. Food was very good and the rustic waterfront setting enjoyable. The marina was only a quarter mile from a Winn Dixie so off I went to stock up.(it reminded me why I don't go to Winn Dixies).
Yesterday, March 22nd we headed for Jacksonville to a dock at Sister's Creek. That is all there is here, a dock, no electric or water hook up, so I guess you can say this is my first REAL camping on the trip. (of course, we do have water tanks on the boat as well as generator power but I want the credit for camping. The cruise up to Sister's Creek yesterday was beautiful. Nice, partly sunny weather and a continuation of the beautiful scenery. There were already about 4 other boasts tied up on the dock when we arrived. Boaters are great, as we approached there was a boater ready to help us tie up.
Our plan was to head up to Fernandina Beach this morning but we awoke to 16-30 mph winds that we would be heading right onto. So we are staying put today, on this dock without services, and hopefully we will be able to set off tomorrow.
Greetings from a windy, rainy, sleeting and sometimes snowing day in Sedona Arizona.
ReplyDeleteQuite honestly is is a fabulous day to watch the weather and not Fight It, just like you folks.
